The purpose of this project is to know the impact of social responsibility on the goal attainment of a business organization with a special reference to Nigeria Breweries Plc, Ibadan, Oyo State. The question of social responsibility in an organization to make maximum effect toward the achievement of the company objectivity has always occupies the mind of managers. This study therefore focuses attention on the impact of social responsibility especially in the Nigeria Breweries Plc, Ibadan, Oyo State. However, the reason for low performance in the company was identified which has to do with nature of the job has performed by the worker’s communication and control rewards system working environment and employee advancement. Finally, appreciate social responsibility that will enhance increase in performance and provide guideline for further policy formulations in the company was recommended with the findings and recommendations of this research work. It therefore hoped that the management of any industry or establishment will adequately responsible for their workers for increased productivity, which in return will lead to the realization of the company’s objectives.
As it is know that no business organization can operate in a vacuum or isolation organization has to interact with its environment and this environment can be classified as internal and external, environments. The societal demand on business has been increasing in the past few decades. The extents of the interaction and the resulting involvements has expanded from the traditional, integral sort of approach that business taken to pursue, society is now providing employment, goods and services.
Organization has taken the central stage in the process of national building. It has become imperative to concentrate more on the comprehensive balance approach to societal responsibility, for example environmental pollution or work stoppage in an industry will have impact upon the society.
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Social responsibility is a concept that seeks to promote the over all welfare of the society. Social responsibility can be defined from so many perspectives but a concise view is that it is an intelligent and objective concern for the welfare of the society, which restrain individual and corporate behaviors from ultimately destructive activities.
Lattam and Hodget (1986) define social responsibility as the obligation of the businessman to purse those policies to make decisions or to follow those lines of actions which are desirable in terms of objective and value of the society.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This issue of social responsibility has become problem to some organization who believes that being socially responsible is important to the existence of the organization.
These organizations may emphasis on the relationship between social responsibility and profitability is a colossus waste of shareholders founds. Also,……..
